The Kindle Fire Fundraiser raised the exact amount of money we needed for the next step of Amy's adoption! It always amazes me that with every one of our adoptions, that's how God works. I often wondered if there was a reason He didn't supply it all up front, and save me all the worry? Haha
I realized during one of the adoptions that there may be a reason God doesn't work that way... What type of faith would I have to have and need to trust Him, if all the money was there before I ever prayed? At every step I am reminded we cant do this on our own, only with God's miraculous help. He loves these children more that we can imagine! And, every time, just in the nick of time, He provides. Each adoption, saves the life of a child, but it is also a journey of faith for our family. Our kids pray at every step and see god's provision. Friends and extended family join in prayer and donations, and become a part of the journey. Through this journey, many hearts are changed, and much faith is grown. We all learn to trust in a God who never fails, who cares about every person He created, who passionate loves those little ones who the world has chosen to reject. He uses our hands to reach out to them and show them that love in a human way.
Someone recently commented on our family, saying they'd never do that ( adopt kids with special needs) ..It would be way too hard. It can be hard at times, but God always reminds me...life is not about me. We were not granted life in order to focus on our own comfort. When I look into their faces, I am reminded they need ME, and hard or not, I wouldn't want my life any other way! (FYI for anyone considering SN adoption, the positives outweigh the negatives a million times over!)
So, here we are on that journey again. My husband and I were laughing on the couch last night as he said, " I cant believe we're going back to China again this year!"
We've learned to take life a step at a time..you never know what God has in store for you...
